Camp Harding is delighted to be able to offer families of our diocese and beyond the opportunity to visit the beautiful Cypress Hills for reflection, rest, play, prayer and healing together in the beauty of nature.
Based on a program written by Rev. Rich Nelson, Francis and Friends is a faith and nature resource which seeks to get families back outdoors, to strengthen family bonds and to be filled with awe and wonder. It is built upon the loving, inclusive teachings of St. Francis and St. Claire of Assisi. It centers the Christian life in the Great Commandment to love God with all our Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength.
Families may book now for up to 6 days of Camp Harding’s “Francis and Friends” Choose Your Own Adventure Camp. This program will run from July 1 to September 6. For a fee of $20 per day families may reserve a place in the on-site program. Rustic bunkhouses and trailer/tent sites are available for no additional fee for those registered in the program. Individual family units will be assigned time to prepare meals in the self-catering camp kitchen.
While on-site families will be provided with 1-3 hours per day of self-directed, age-appropriate lessons and activities centered around one of the five daily themes including an introduction to the Great Commandment, heart, soul, mind, and strength. All supplies for the activities will be made available. You choose how many of the 6 suggested daily activities your family will complete based upon the ages of your group and your interests. This will leave you with lots of time for relaxing and exploring Cypress Hills and the many amenities in the Park.
Call or text Krista at 306-772-0066 or email [email protected] to book your Family Camp out at Harding today. We do have limited slots available as we will need to limit the numbers on-site each day based upon current provincial Covid-19 restrictions. If you need to stay close to home this summer but would like to participate in Francis and Friends virtually, contact Krista (above) and we’ll do everything we can to help you get going including mailing you out a “passport” to the program. Hope to see you in Cypress or online with us this summer!
